Review

The Good The school is quite good, maybe some facilities are not up to a high standard but good enough to teach in...
Students are good, receptive to foreign teacher as there are so few foreigners in the city.
They need teachers desperately so you can ask for more easily before your contract.

The work is quite easy just 1 or 2 lessons to prepare each week, see each set of students once in 2 weeks.
Always got paid on time and the correct amount, just negotiating what a fair amount before for overtime etc is a pain.
Some meals subsidized by the school, get a good dinner and lunch most days provided by school just around 4/5rmb each
The Bad The boss it not easy to deal with.
She did not pay my recruiter for 3 months when i started, recruiter needed to ask me to speak with the boss to get her money, at first boss said their is no reason to pay for her as all they did was give her my number.
Apartment is just so so and kept needing to change, for over a month in winter I was unable to use Air conditioning for heating as i had just been moved to another apartment and it was not working, also water heater never worked correctly in that apartment.
Contract is changed, only way to get boss to agree with your reasonable terms is the refuse to work.
Visa will not be paid for even if promised by the school, will not even call the agency number i gave to see how much it would cost them to do it.
Only have 1 foreign teacher, even when they have 200+ student who never have class with me. Even i suggest helping to find a new one the boss says she does not need one.
Holiday's...you will get some days in summer some during Chinese new year, dont expect national holidays off, dont expect the Chinese Labor Law to be followed in regards to extra pay for working national holidays.
Overall I think the work is quite easy if you have some experience, but I dont think a great place to learn to become a great teacher...also not good city for learning Mandarin, their mandarin is bad.

Overall, feel free to work there but dont feel you have to honor the contract it means nothing, boss told me this...

I think working here afew months is enough...

Dont accept less than 7000rmb a month and you should be paid more for over 100 lessons.
